The Pachatopia Vision

Relearning to inhabit the Earth with respect, responsibility, and hope.

A question has always lived within us: how can we build a fairer, more peaceful, and more abundant world for all?

Even as children, some of us dreamed of a world where human beings could live in peace, where poverty and conflict would give way to cooperation and respect for life.

Growing up, we understood that this dream was not easy to achieve. The world is complex, economic and social systems can be conflicting, and finding one's place to act positively is not always obvious.

Yet a conviction remained deeply rooted: change always starts somewhere.

At Pachatopia, we chose to start with what connects us all: the Earth.

Inspired by the wisdom of Indigenous peoples and their respect for Pachamama, Mother Earth, we believe that caring for the living world is one of the most powerful paths toward building a sustainable and harmonious future.

Pachatopia - regeneration
Our mission

Regenerating places so a different model can emerge

In San Carlos, we work with living systems, but also with the memory of a territory. The goal is not only to produce differently, but to show how repaired land can become a foundation for trust, autonomy, and a shared future.

Regenerative landscape in San Carlos

Local grounding

Agroforestry, nature reserves, and shared knowledge to bring living landscapes back to life and help communities look forward again.

Regenerating soils, planting trees, restoring ecosystems, and producing agriculture that respects nature are all simple acts that can transform a territory… and sometimes much more.

Because when the earth regenerates, human relationships can also be transformed.

In the San Carlos region of Colombia, a territory marked by the wounds of the past, we work with local communities to bring back living landscapes and forward-looking communities.

Through agroforestry, the creation of nature reserves, and knowledge sharing, we aim to demonstrate that another model is possible: one where nature is respected, where the economy supports life, and where cooperation replaces competition.

Pachatopia is not just an agricultural project. It is an invitation to relearn how to inhabit the Earth with respect, responsibility, and hope.

Every tree planted, every regenerated soil, and every act of cooperation are seeds sown for the future.

Our vision

Harmony with the Earth

A world where human beings live in harmony with the Earth, the waters, the air, and all forms of life.

Natural abundance

Abundance born from balance with nature, where each generation becomes a guardian of the living world.

Cooperation

Nature respected, economy supporting life, and cooperation replacing competition.

Our conviction

We deeply believe that caring for life also transforms human relationships

Regeneration is not only ecological. It also reshapes how we produce, share, cooperate, and imagine a common future. That wider vision is what gives Pachatopia its meaning.

Regenerating the Earth can help regenerate human relationships

Planting trees is already a way of building peace

Every positive action can inspire wider change

Volunteer Testimonials

Wow, Wow, Wow! I had the pleasure to stay at this place for just over 3 weeks during the Christmas and new year period. I have never felt more welcomed in a place whilst travelling - not just by the lovely family taking care of the farm whilst Benito was away - but also from all the locals in the little village with whom I made good friends. My Spanish improved significantly due to a full spanish immersion and I enjoyed teaching some English to Feli and Yula. The work is super varied and not one day the same. I planted trees, built a micro tunnel, sorted coffee beans, watered and deweeded the micro tunnels, picking the veg when it was ready to take to market, I learned how to fish (and prepare a fish to eat), I moved stones about to do some landscaping. Thank you so much for the best workaway experience I've had!

I've been working in the farm for only one week, too short! I really would like to come back as soon as possible. To enjoy this place, I advice you to stay at minimum one month. There is a lot of work. Thanks a lot for your welcoming benito! It was a really good experience for me and my 9 years old daughter. I worked in the forest with local people, I took care cocoa tree, I worked on the coffee: I selected the good and bad coffee beans. I felt free to chose the work which was the best for me. The exchanges was really interesting. And the place is nice, peaceful, zen... the cascades are so nice... It's definitely a place to visit.

Where to start?! We spent the most amazing week with Gula and Benoit. We instantly felt at home on the farm, and loved chatting, playing card games and having communal meals together. The food was so delicious and cooked with a lot of love (and yuca!). Daily work activities ranged from sorting coffee beans when it was raining, weeding and mulching vegetable beds with grass, painting furniture, and moving things around the property such as rocks for landscaping. In the afternoons we went for swims at the waterfall or up the river and relaxed in the hammock. Benoit's energy is infectious and he always has a wide range of things that need help with on the farm. Would highly recommend visiting these guys to get a first hand experience of coffee and cacao farming in a beautiful area of Colombia. We miss this place every day!

I have stayed for a week at Benoit and Gula finca. Was a great experience and I totally recommend. My tasks were to take care of the animals in the morning & evening, to help around the house until the lunch, I helped at drying the coffee, make the foundation for micro tunnels, do ditches to evacuate the water, help at the coffee washing, cut with a machete the grass around the trees. Quite diverse. The work can be demanding, but you can take as many breaks as you want. And bonus, the vision regarding the project is quite nice, it is also about educate the locals and to be more sustainable.

Totalmente recomendable.
